STARK Coatings Performance
Engineered Surfaces

At Staltec, coatings are not just a layer. They are a strategy.

STARK Coatings are engineered to extend the life of components, reduce maintenance and improve performance across the harshest industrial environments. Our surface solutions are developed with a precise understanding of wear mechanisms, thermal loads, corrosion behavior and mechanical stress — and are applied using the most advanced thermal spray, cladding and special technologies available.

Industries
we serve

STARK Coatings are trusted in industries where failure is not an option. We design each coating system based on operating conditions, repairability and life-cycle cost. Find out how our coatings can serve your industry.

Steel
& Aluminum

Enhancing durability and process efficiency in mettalurgy, casting, flat products, long products and extrusion.

Defense
& Naval

Protecting components against saltwater, fatigue and high-load shock using coatings for hydraulic, forging and structural parts.

Mining
& Agriculture

Resisting abrasion, erosion, and impact in extreme duty cycles. Ideal for crushers, pump components, rolls and wear parts.

Textile
& Paper Industry

Improving roll life and surface quality under high steam and abrasive contact, with special coatings.

Steel

Our coatings are specifically designed for:

  • Galvanizing line equipment: sink rolls, stabilizer rolls, snout, arms, furnace rolls,
deflector rolls, top rolls, process rolls.
  • Continuous casting and rolls for hot and cold rolling mill
  • Copper plates
  • Mandrels
  • Bearing housings
  • Blast furnace tuyeres and valves
  • Heat-exposed and chemically aggressive zones
  • Coated surfaces with anti-stick and high wear resistance

Benefits

  • Reduced roll change frequency
  • Improved strip quality
  • Longer service intervals under extreme temperatures and molten metal exposure

Aluminum

Our coatings minimize surface pick-up, resist thermal fatigue, and enable longer component life time even in aggressive processing atmosphere.

•    Table rolls
•    Process rolls
•    Extrusion tooling

Defense & Naval

We apply special techniques and systems for the military and naval-grade conditions

•    Forging and extrusion tooling
•    High-performance cylinders and components
•    Protective coatings for marine hydraulic and mechanical systems

These applications require coatings that endure:

•    High load cycles
•    Saltwater corrosion
•    Explosive shock and fatigue

Mining & Agriculture

We provide dense coatings that resist abrasion, impact and slurry erosion — tailored to open-pit and underground mining operations.

•    Pump components
•    Pelletizing rolls
•    Hydraulic rods
•    Classifier roller and conveyor belt drum bearing seat
•    Crusher parts and screens
•    Wear plates and liners

Paper & Textile

Our coatings increase resistance to abrasion, steam exposure and aggressive cycles, improving paper surface finish and reducing downtime.

•    Glue applicator rolls
•    Calendar rolls
•    Corrugator rolls
•    Feed rolls among others

Technologies

1. THERMAL SPRAY

HVOF & Cold Spray
High-velocity coatings with exceptional density, hardness and bond strength. Ideal for:
•    WC-Family, CrC-Family, Tribaloy, Stellite, Inconel-based systems
•    Wear, corrosion and fatigue protection

Plasma Spray
A versatile thermal spray technique producing oxide-resistant, tough coatings for high-temperature and chemically aggressive environments. Used for:
•    Ceramic coatings
•    Abradable and thermal barriers
•    Bond coats for multi-layer systems

Arc & Flame Spray
Cost-effective for large-area protection and dimensional rebuild:
•    Zinc, aluminum, steel wires
•    Field repairs and structural elements

2. WELDING TECHNOLOGIES

Laser Cladding
A high-precision fusion process where a focused laser beam is used to apply a metallurgically bonded layer of material. Laser cladding allows:
•    Controlled heat input and minimal dilution
•    Complex geometries and localized repairs
•    Application of nickel, cobalt and carbide-reinforced alloys

PTA (Plasma Transferred Arc)
Used for heavy-duty rebuild and surface hardening:
•    High metallurgical bonding
•    Cobalt- and nickel-based wear-resistant overlays

3. SEALANT & HYBRID SYSTEMS

STARK Sealers & Hybrid Systems
We apply special polymeric or ceramic sealers to:
•    Close porosity
•    Prevent corrosion propagation
•    Enhance performance in wet or chemically aggressive environments

STARK Coating Stack Engineering
Our in-house developed multi-layer strategies allow:
•    Wear + corrosion + anti-stick in one system
•    Optimized thermal behavior
•    Tailored repairability and re-coatability
•    Integration of diffusion layers and others for superior bonding
and surface hardening

Let our engineers help define the right surface strategy for your operation.
